This week, the Associated Student Body (ASB) prepared students’ Wildcat pride for the football game against Los Altos High School.

Students participated in spirit days such as Stay Classy Monday, Tutu Tuesday, War Wear Wednesday, Turn it Around Thursday and Be Bold Friday. Classes earned spirit points from Monday to Thursday by checking in to ASB members at  tables next to the lunch shelter.

On Friday, ASB hosted a Beat L.A. rally at lunch which consisted of an introduction to the football team, class games and a Song performance. ASB also revealed this year’s homecoming theme, “Midnight in Paris”.

ASB advisor Patricia Habash-Branconier believes spirit weeks are a great way for students to become more outgoing.

“I love it when the kids dress up and get out of their comfort zone and participate in being a Wildcat. [The week] brings the student body together, because there is a lot of pride and spirit,” Habash-Branconier said.

Varsity football player junior Ryan Tea says that the spirit week helped  improve his playing.

“It is  really great that we have so much school spirit and that so many people participated [in] a  week dedicated for the game. The competition against Los Altos really gives me a drive to play and win,” said Tea.

Freshman Michelle Trinh enjoyed spirit week because it allowed  her to feel more confident.

“I liked Tutu Tuesday because it was silly. It helped me feel less self conscious, because everyone was participating,” said Trinh.

The next ASB event is Club Rush from September 6th to 7th.
