A recent location change of the annual senior amusement park trip striked controversy amongst the class of 2018.
In past years, seniors attended Grad Nite at Disneyland. However, Disneyland could not accommodate Wilson into the event, because it sold out for the preferred date.
Following this notification, Associated Student Body (ASB) seniors changed the trip to Universal Studios’ Grad Bash.
Grad Bash will take place from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Attendees will enjoy a senior-exclusive amusement park and have the opportunity to meet people from other schools, including Los Altos HS.
Senior Class President Derrick Khousavath says that Grad Bash will still be a worthwhile experience.
“Even though the event is not at Disneyland, [seniors] should still attend because they will get their money’s worth and make many memories that will last forever,” Khousavath said.
ASB advisor Patricia Habash says that Grad Bash should be just as enjoyable as Grad Nite.
“I am hoping that the attendees will still enjoy their time at Grad Bash,” Habash said. “I do not know if it will be better than Grad Nite, but I hope it will be just as successful.”
According to senior Nadia Dorsey, she will still attend Grad Bash, despite preferring Disneyland over Universal Studios.
“I have been looking forward to Grad Nite at Disneyland for a long time, so the change was disappointing,” Dorsey said. “Either way, I am still going [to the event] because I want to make the most out of my senior year.”
The first payment for Grad Bash tickets is due on Oct. 31.
