Despite the loss, co-captain Stephanie Inzunza (12) remains optimistic for the upcoming season and strives to encourage the team along the way.
“[This loss] put us down, but it gave us motivation to try harder. After doing [so well] in preseason, I want the team to know that we have the potential to win no matter what the outcome is ” Inzuna said.
By setting personal goals for herself, midfielder Paloma Marquez (11) hopes to achieve a final victory with her team this season.
“Many things went wrong because of the lack of communication and, from this point forward, I plan to work as hard as I can to help the team win league,” Marquez said.
